I'm 11, turning 12 and I think that the Daniel X book is quite a turn-pager for readers like me. It gets you off the explorer and treasure finding books with adventure and gets you into a little more action than you would find in, say, Harry Potter or the Just series, while stilling having a bit of humor and other things us kids would like.
I think James Patterson is a wonderful author, and I hope most of the kids on this earth agree with me.

Honestly, I've only heard an audio excerpt. I am 14, and I didn't really think much of the...tradgety. It sort of does have to happen in order for the plot to go on. Also, younger kids are a lot stronger than you think.

I'm 14, and I LOVED this book, seriously. James Patterson's a great writer, and he makes sure that even though Daniel's got so many powers he still has to put up a fight to kill the opposing alien. I mean, if you've read the second book in this series, he has a pretty tough time killing Number 5.
There's one thing I disagree with you on- the beginning where Daniel's parents are killed wasn't too tragic that it would be inapropriate for young kids. Most kids these days aren't easily traumatized.

"Magical way?" In the book it clearly states he can rearrange the molecules around him to create things.

I don't mean to disrespect but your saying this book is to TRAGIC for kids. Hate to tell you but have you watched half the shows they have today. And the horror movies? Daniel X is nothing, actually he's a good role motle in a way. Even without his parents he still lived up to be a respectful person. Maybe not perfect but still better than the rappers today. Really watch tv and see if thats good enough for kids. Again this is just my opinon. Have a nice day.

i who have read the book dangerous days of daniel x would like to add even though it has that tragedy it's not like they make it huge gore it is sad but nothing that would not be appropiate recomend ages 9-15
Silverbolt -- We concur on several points. I wouldn't recommend anyone pay list price for this book. And that they only read it so they have something to talk about at cocktail parties. --FJD
