Aoun : Lahoud and Pakradouni facilitated his comeback

In this interview, the Lebanese General Michel Aoun, who was exiled in France, confirms that he came back to Lebanon in 2005 following a deal with Emile Emile Lahoud (the son of President Emile Lahoud, a staunch ally of Syria) and Karim Pakradouni.

Why were the pro-Syrians Lahoud and Pakradouni so keen that Aoun, who had fought the Syrians in 1989, should come back to Lebanon ?!?!

Faut lire le livre d'un ancien Aouniste :Roger J. Azzam "Liban, L'instruction d'un crime" Ed CHEMINENENTS, 2005. PG 634 Certaines sources ont affirmé que Karim Pakradouni avait depuis plus d'un an et demi entamé une sorte de médiation entre Bashar el Assad et le général Aoun. La confirmation d'une telle information serait assez grave. Pakradouni aurait dit que ce comportement inédit du général ne constituerait que la partie émergeante de l'iceberg.

Petain was not a traitor... there were situations and reasons where some one had to sign a treaty with the Germans...

Aoun, c'est comme Pétain. Pétain a combattu les Allemands en 1914 puis a collaboré avec eux en 1939.

Aoun is a traitor, like Petain. Petain fought the Germans in 1914 (First World War) then collaborated with them in 1939 (World War II).
