I really didn't get into Chevelle until after seeing them on a Breaking Benjamin tour last March. Now, they are one of my favorite bands - and rightly so. Consisting of a talented trio, Chevelle's powerful lyrics and heavy riffs require a solid, but interesting drum part. Here, I try my best to emulate their drummer, Sam Loeffler, while still adding my own parts in the mix. The song performed here is "Straight Jacket Fashion," from Chevelle's 4th studio album, 'Vena Sera'.

I should note that I play the entire song with the single pedal (with the exception of a fill or two). I watched a lot of the other covers for this song on youtube and everyone I saw played double bass for the prechorus. I wanted to stay close to the original drummers method, but I'm certainly not knocking the other covers, the talent out there is awesome! Chevelle rules - end of story.

Nice job man. I'd keep the B8's and upgrade the ZHT's when you get the chance. ZHT's sound like trash can lids in my opinion. (maybe you already have, this video is a bit old)

Killed it! Best song on an amazing album too! When you said Chevelle, I was really hoping it'd be from Vena Sera. I must say, you're really versatile with your ride, I like it - keep doing what you're doing! Really looking forward to hearing Pillar whenever you get time to do the next one!
