ContainerHomes.Net presents a new video on the installation of the glass sliding door in our shipping container home. The construction of the 20ft studio apartment required some subcontracting from workers in several different fields.

  • The actual hinging of the deck was quite challenging due to the weight and it's super sharp edges. Our next product will have full video coverage and will be posted on youtube as soon as it is available.

  • I love the louvred glass, and your dog! Hey do you have any videos of how you did the hinge-up deck?

  • our next project we will shoot this video.

  • Just don,t hire these MORONS no level, or tape between them... THE AMERICAN WAY built by the lowest bidder..!

  • how long before that wood rots that you drilled the holes thru?

  • How much did it cost to install the glass?

  • 2:57 lol he just striped the screw and striped the threads nice job xd!

  • @CdnGulfa is spray foam very toxic when it burns , then better insulate with stone wool, in case of fire.

  • ..so what takes the weight of the long span of wall you cut away ?

  • @CdnGulfa so dam smart man i wish i was able to do it myself

  • @DLUVRL2 Oh ya - 40' insulated container is about 6,000 with-out shipping. Doesn't make sense when I can insulate with spray foam for about 2.50 per sq ft...comes out to roughly $800.

  • @DLUVRL2 Not sure if anyone has answered your question about costs but here it goes. I live in Ontario Canada and I am about 1hr 40 mins from Toronto (where the shipping yard is located)

    20" Standard container - 1,800 - 2,300 non insulated

    40" Standard container - 2,500 - 2,900 non insulated

40" High Cube 3,100 non insulated but the hieght is 9'5" instead of 8'5"

Shipping is $450 for 2 20' containers or one 40'

    Prices are all in Cdn

    Hope this helps
