  • You cannot attribute the misdeeds of others who **claim** to be Christian to Christianity. According to the Bible, Christians are to witness to others. If these people then reject Christianity, the Christian is to drop the topic and walk away. Jesus made it very clear that the religion is not to be forced on anyone. (Mat. 10: 12-14 if you're interested) So guess what: Free exercise of religion IS a Christian principle.

  • You are doing exactly what many Christians accuse us atheists of doing, quote-mining the bible.

If you accept that jesus said those words in Matthew 10:12-14 then you also have to accept what he said in Matthew 10:34-36 where he talks specifically says he's not bringing peace to earth, but rather bringing a sword.

So essentially it's saying you can practice whatever religion you want, but you go to hell if it's not christianity.

Doesn't sound like religious freedom to me...

  • @Bourtini I think they have intolerance for anyone, or any country for that matter, that isn't just like them. Ever seen an American on vacation abroad? All they do is complain that the country they're in isn't like America.

  • @ChipArgyle Why? Because they hate everybody else, especially muslims, atheists, satanists, pagans, ect. They are only comfortable with people that believe in their religion, they want control over everything they dislike about liberty, and want to brainwash everyone.

  • If a theocracy is such a bad thing, why do so many Americans strive for it?

  • @Click2Close Woah there bro. I am an atheist but raised Catholic. How about you recollect the atrocities committed by Cromwell {protestant} upon the Irish Catholics? He and his followers killed thousands of people for nothing more than being Catholic. Hell, here in America during the 19th century there were several instances where "gawd fearing christians" attacked, vandalized, and/or burned Catholic schools, churches and hospitals. And people can pray, it just isn't REQUIRED. Big difference.

  • The way you talk and keep squinting with your eyes shows you need glasses.

  • if we are a christ nation, then we should legalize slavery not let women vote not let women wear pants or any male atire make homosexuality a crime punishable by death legalize child abuse illegalize adultary take away freedom of religion and only christianity legalize putting people in jail if they don't honor their parents make coveting a crime don't eat shell fish don't wear clothes made of 2 threads or anything the bible says to or not to do does that sound like a fun country, christians?
  • @MichaelCasanovaMusic It doesn't matter to me where folks get their values as long as they have some good ones. Statistics show that the the morale values that matter have diminished over time. Coincidently, that reduction in values is proportional to higher divorce rates and children growing up alone. I don't practice religion either, but I have morales. I only hope the people who are unable to make good decisions find some guidelines. If that's christianity or Budha or satanism, I don't care.
