@FruscianteLennon311 The Mars Volta has become nothing but pretentious....and you're by far the only fan I've heard to say De-Loused is there weakest album. I've been a fan since 04 (saw them at the Salem Armory in April of 04 with APC) and literally everyone I've ever talked to has said the same....you might have shitty taste my friend

@live4rock10 Personally, I think trying really hard to not sound like anything else is retarded. Typically, bands should focus on making good music and not entirely on being 100% super unique and unlike anything else. Octahedron is my favourite Mars Volta album (blasphemy, I know) but I love it because it's so melodic and easy to listen to, not a single dull moment on there for me.
