I agree there may not be a CCR, or a Hendrix's Experience in everybody's mouth, but let's be fair and give the underground artists some credit man, if we keep thinking that way they'll never have a chance to be known; and although I don't know any of them because I'm an "oldie music" lover and have much jet to discover I know they are out there, down there somewhere, we just have to look to find them out.
Just a positive thinking word, nothing more.

The band took its name from Credence Nuball, a friend of Tom Fogerty; "clearwater", a reference to the band's concern for ecology (from a beer commercial of the day); and "revival", which spoke to the four members' re-commitment to their band.
