Love the incidental sounds of the country...need to move out of the city....

I'll always remember that sound the track makes when a train is approaching, like mice squeaking. When I was a kid, I was cutting through some bushes to get across the tracks and I stopped on the track (because it was the only spot without 6 foot high bushes on either side) to pick the foxtails out of my socks before continuing. The rails then started making that squeaky tingly noise. Looked both ways on the track and didn't see anything, so I continued to pick the burrs out of my socks...

Very cool video! You were both lucky and part of normal operations. The three horn blast you heard is night time standard operations, on any platforms that have anyone on it. Though, I will admit, you looked like the only one there. So it was to his discretion on if he blew or not. More then likely just being a good/nice engineer.

i used toknow an engineer who did the same thing. everytime he stopped at the station he would say hi to me and crap. it was cool
