@ilindah the law allows for the same tax deductions, the same right to shared property, the same right to visit your ill/dying spouse in the hospital, gives you the respect and support that you get from becoming a union in front of your family and friends that legitimizes you as a couple. Not that complicated.

@ilindah the law is fundamentally about regulation of society... it's not necessarily "conforming" because gay couples are already a part of that very society. and the law isn't about making money, it's about protecting money already held by individuals. by getting married gay couples are simultaneously joining their lives (financial and non-financial) together - they get security in both senses.

@10templetons you're right, we can do whatever we want...BUT it is interesting to me that a community would even conform to a law/s that are made by the majority of straight people in authority who create and manipulate the law/s based on their ideas of morals and values (they'd say non-religious but they are) that are regulated by the same people, for their own gain...what does the law get out of it? more money...more control...what do gay people get out of it? a piece of paper.

ahh gay people fighting for "equality" by following the straight way of life?? fools...it aint equality, it is economics. they have been led to believe that "marriage" is the symbol for true love, proving their lover for each other...or will bring them closer to god...its a lie. love whoever you want and there is no need to justify it to a homophobic society...lol they've been WAITING for straight judges, law makers, authorities, etc to validate their love for each other...fools.
