Yesterday I put up a collection of old songs and saved them to a playlist called "Old Songs To Ignore," accessible via my channel. I moved the privacy setting to "unlisted" so they would not flood anyone's sub box. They are a good record of my development to date, and there is at least some sort of saving grace to each of them. There is also plenty to cringe about. But anyway, I just wanted to tell you where to find them in case you find yourself at a loss for something to do.

(G) Little by little I (C) found out the truth that (D) you were un(C)faithful to (G) me
It hardly still matters you (C) used up my youth with (D) lovers I (C) never did (G) see

(C) Take this ring from my finger and (G) throw it away
It's (C) only a trinket grown (D) old
I (C) never did think that the (G) price that I'd (C) pay
Was (G) more than the (D) price of the (G) gold

Forever and ever I thought foolishly you'd honor the limits of love
But how many lovers knew better than me the things you were most dreaming of?

Take this ring from my finger and throw it away
It's only a trinket grown old
I never did think that the price that I'd pay
Was more than the price of the gold

I'm late for the lawyer I'm meeting today to sweep up the fragments of us
It seems a whole lifetime's been frittered away in thinking you worthy of trust

Take this ring from my finger and throw it away
It's only a trinket grown old
I never did think that the price that I'd pay
Was more than the price of the gold

  • cool, ive been there

  • @lefthooklyrics I haven't yet, but there's still time.

  • Great song. Like the guitar pick and the harmonies add a lot. The lyrical hook at the chorus is brilliant - and very you. Ps yes your reply re audacity makes sense - I now have two ways of avoiding disaster ! Thanks Don

  • @sidtypical Thanks, Jim. I am trying to push myself to a little higher level with my songs. I've been stuck in a rut for awhile, I feel. There's always plenty more to learn.

  • Another great song Don! I love the combination of serious and fun songs on your channel. You're great at writing both. Glad to hear that you've put some of your old songs back up too. As soon as I get a bit of free time, I'll revisit my favourites.

  • @fourteentwelve I must come off as a kind of manic-depressive the way I write songs. I am all over the place. Don't worry about revisiting those old songs, Michelle. You've seen them all and left me many great comments. I just wanted them to be up for new people who might be interested. Thanks!

  • @songblurred Hehehehe! And you're welcome! :-)

  • @songblurred good question...Doesn't it all boil down which one we all are? Actually I consider myself to be more of a Guy Noire myself. How did I know that you would get the reference.

  • @MrECLECTICIAN Which one am I, Dusty or Lefty? It was me on the harmonies. Garrison Keillor has an entire cast of singers/radio talent. I've got nothing. Thanks, Jeff.

  • great tune Don. Love that chorus, clever wording as to be expected. Was that you doing the harmonies? Has a real western flair to it. Like something you might here on "The Lives of cowboys" on prairie home companion.
