Jimi had such a great mix of R&B, country, soul, jazz, rock etc. in his playing. He was a great rhythm player too. What he plays at 1:06 - 1:10 is so cool.

@jk frank not to mention John Mayer is talented but not nearly as jimi but that's ok because he only needs to be as good as he can be but he would be the first to tell you jimi is the man

John Mayer's cover is way better, more fun to listen to, better singers, mixed better, better drums, more powerful. Jimi is just sloppy, dirty, ugly guitar and drums, and a shitty voice..

I know I'm going to get ripped for this but I think JM's version is better. I know Jimi is the man but I enjoy johns cover more then the original
