This tune is my nod to Jerry Douglas who inspired me to learn to play Dobro... or, at least to buy one and spend a lot of time caressing its shape and listening to its gentle cries. I'll spend the rest of my life aspiring to play like the master.

BTW: And, who is this Idaho Smith?

  • that's a really nice tune man, very soulful!

  • Thanks for the kind words... they're most appreciated. :)

  • not bad. Sounds quite good. Wish I would have the patience and dicipline to learn an instrument (which ever instrument). I have two tin-whistles and a bodhran at home getting dust... I can play a few more or less good tunes, but that's all ;-D

  • Thanks for the kind words. I've loved the sound of the dobro for years and have wanted to learn to play ever since the first time I heard Jerry Douglas playing... but, that in itself stopped me from thinking that it was possible... until the day I met him. He was so gracious and encouraging that I felt obliged to take it up as best as I could. I'll still keep working at it as long as I have the strength to hold the bar in my hand. :)
