Meeting David Archuleta - March 16, 2009 - Radio Station in Tempe, Arizona

Are you ready to see the greatest 7 minutes of my life?

Here's how it all happened...
We had gone to the show in San Antonio, and had left afterwards. We had been promised that David was NOT coming out. Well...Someone tells me a few days later (Saturday) that he DID come out. I was crushed, depressed, and hurt. I cried for almost an hour.
What happens next shocks me. My parents buy tickets to another show. IN ARIZONA. O_O
We left the house a few hours later. Two days later, we pull into the hotel, a few miles away from the venue. I didn't sleep at all.
My family and I got to the Marquee Theater to wait in line at 6:00 a.m. Two local girls were already there, along with a group of people who had gotten on a plane ALL THE WAY FROM JAPAN, to see David. (talk about dedication!)
The two local girls told us that David was supposed to be having an interview that morning at a radio station that wasn't too far away. They said that there was a chance we might be able to meet him.
Of course, we went. (My mom stayed to save our spots in line.) We got to the radio station, and I used the time waiting to finish the poster I had been working on. "We drove 1112 miles just to see you again." A few more people showed up. But by about 7:45 a.m. there were only a little over 12 people there. I was shocked it was so few.
All of a sudden, someone says, "HE'S HERE!" And we all glance over at the doors. Sure enough, David Archuleta is bending down on the sidewalk, tying his shoe! (ADORABLE! LOL) I whip out my camera and start to film.
The rest is pretty much what you see here.
And we also learned from David himself (you can hear it in the video) that he in fact DID NOT come outside in San Antonio. LOL. So I was lied to. But I'm not mad. That lie brought me to David...
Fate, perhaps? =P

Sorry if it gets shaky and not focusing on David. I wasn't paying complete attention. I was totally mesmerized. LOL. A little over half-way through the video, I set the camera down on a table to capture video while I waited for my picture. Someone else picks up by mistake..LOL

David is totally the nicest person on this planet. I'd heard that from other people before, but now I know for myself. He is SO sweet!

While waiting to take a picture with him, I was thinking about videos I had seen on YouTube of people meeting David after the Idols concerts, remembering how some girls had just slung their arms over him, and how awkward it had seemed. As close as I wanted to be to him, I didn't want him to be uncomfortable at all. When my sister took her picture, she did what the girls from the Idols concerts had done, and it kind of disgusted me.
Why should we force him to be so close to us if he doesn't want to be? It agrivates me... He gives us so much, and he's so nice about all of it.
So when I went up to get my picture, I simply stood by him, content enough to be near him. Then something happens that I'd never have guessed... David puts HIS arm around ME. Hoping that it wouldn't be wierd, I put my arm around him and we remain like that for a few seconds while our picture is taken.
It was the best moment of my life. =D
