Geelong Cup Day 2009

The Geelong Cup day is one of the most important days of the year,in our 'City by the Bay', even meriting a local public holiday ! All Australian Royalty was present of course, including Bart Cummings & Cameron Ling. (Bart's runner only got 2nd in the Cup, but considering it was replacing a scratching, not bad !) Whilst trying to keep the eyes firmly fastened on events on the track, Gruntlesnoot was often distracted, totally hypnotised & 'fascinated' by the stunning array of 'fascinators'....(unfortunately they couldn't all be included) If you were there, you worthy citizens of Geelong (or Ballarat for that matter) watch this video and you may be reminded of a few things you possibly hoped would be quickly forgotten.... (only kidding!) Highlights include views of Bart and Cameron (I've 'flagged' Cameron for you, so you can't possibly miss him)
[Thanks very much to the gentleman busking at the entrance, for letting me record his great guitar playing.( He told me he came from the North Island of New Zealand) Folks, I promise you it is worth watching this video through to the end just to catch another few bars of his performance! ]
Hearty congratulations to you Ballaratians for giving us such a deserving winner! ( and I specially liked the way Leica Ding helped herself to a few mouthfuls of the neighbourhood bushes before the presentation of the cup! Hungry work this racing!)

more people should do what you have done for the geelong cup. you get a feel for the atmosphere on the day. hope leica makes the melbourne cup

great video!good to see more than just the race as i cant cos dont live in geelong anymore but it where i grew up! hope leica gets in the cup she would go well starting to warm to her. she a beautiful looking horse love her markings.
