@nick62040 Right...How am I stupid exactly?
-
@Alphacaliber Yes you are.

@nick62040 You're not hearing me. He isn't using a scope and he's not in a testing situation so MAYBE he's using it for comfort for shooting. Why is it compulsory for a cheek pad with scope or none at all with no scope. jeeze. I'm not stupid.
-
@Alphacaliber Time to school you. The scope on Garands used for sniping had a scope mounted offset to the left side so the operator could still load with the en bloc clips so the cheek piece was to give a cheek weld the same approximate distance the scope was off set. It was not for comfort! With iron sights it is actually in the way of getting a good sight picture, I'm speaking from experience since I have owned two M1D's, and several rack grade Garand's and still have 4 of them.
-
@nick62040 And why wouldn't you have a cheek rest for comfort? It's not like he's in a warzone or that the M1 will ever be used in a warzone...And again, if you knew, why did you ask? Calm down Grandad.
-
@Alphacaliber Again showing how little you know, the cheek piece doesn't make it more comfortable with iron sights. It's not obvious, captain obvious, you need more work conquering those urges.
lol lean forward..
