nice death spiral, dude. gotta love the feeling of being wrenched into the nose of your board by your harness at a good 30 miles an hour.

Just curious, could you share what your helmet cam setup is?

Sony super HAD 480 TV line bullet cam with a 2.9mm wide angle lens + a microphone water-proofed with 4 layers of rubber glove finger tips. The cables run back into a small backpack. Inside is a housing I made from PVC tubing which has a perspex lid and stainless steel bolts to hold it down on an O-ring. Inside the housing is a 12Volt AA battery pack which provides power to the CAM & MIC. The video recording device is a small portable HDD which records @ 320x240res (a very basic setup).

I had broken the fin box earlier and repaired it myself so I was not sure if it would hold up after my home repair job. I thought it might break hitting the sandbar, so just checked to make sure it was ok.. I think it is much stronger than originally but a lot heavier!
