28 Sep 1992 (Part 2) - Alan-Michael notices how much Holly is drinking. He leaves to find the waiter, while Holly snubs Maureen when she tries to say hello. Holly stops by Ross' table to annoy him, and he also cautions her about drinking too much. Ross refuses to play games with Holly, so he walks away. Later, Holly gets mad at Ed for letting Blake move into the garage apartment. Holly feels that Ed is being insensitive to her while making things easy for Ross and Blake. Ross tries to catch a moment with Blake, but she still doesn't want to talk. Holly follows Blake out to the pool area and starts giving Blake a hard time. Blake gets mad and insists that not everything is about Holly. Holly believes that Blake is still trying to hurt her by flaunting her [Blake's] relationship with Ross. To get back at Blake, Holly pushes her daughter into the pool.

I feel for Holly in this situation. She was in a relationship with Ross, he cheated on her with her daughter, neither Ross nor Blake really showed remorse for it, and when Holly tries to get some support from anyone she's basically told to "Get over it and make her daughter happy." Add insult to injury Holly had to keep the affair quiet to protect Blake from Roger. Who wouldn't be angry?

I remember this so well. As result of Blake's scornful scheming, Holly began to compete with Alexandra for the title Springfield's most acid tongue mother. It was shortlived but terrfic as Blake really deserved a taste of own medicine.

It may be an older piece of Holly's wardrobe, but I don't think any piece lasts longer than a few years.
Acapulco was in 1990, when Holly was engaged to Ross and Roger was married to Alex. Holly and Roger actually made some peace at that time, and it was this vibe that Ross picked up on and realized that Holly would always have that bond with Roger, so he broke off the engagement. It's interesting that he ended up with Roger's daughter and a whole new set of Roger-baggage.

I agree, she's VERY self-absorbed at this time. She annoyed me too, but I love it that the actress was so willing to play the negative emotions, jealousy, woman-scorned, bitter, selfish etc...and it really works with setting up what makes Blake the way she is. What a dysfunctional family portrait they made! Now I notice that outfit Holly is in....is this around the time period of the Acapulco trip? Isn't that the same outfit she wore to the country club? (I watched some of the Classic GL stuff)

Oh yeah, Holly was definitely interesting then. TPTB didn't know how to use such a strong character later on and basically ruined Holly. Not far from what they did with Ross and then Blake.
