Here's a real treat for you guys; a rarely-heard version of the classic romantic love song from Disney's modern masterpiece "The Lion King." This version of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" uses the lyrics of the Elton John version, but is performed by different singers instead of Elton John (IDK who it is, the female MIGHT be Celine Dion, who performed "Beauty and the Beast.") It also starts off sounding similar to the version that was performed in the middle of the movie (when Simba and Nala fall in love), and then halfway through it then sounds like the Elton John version a bit.

This was so far only heard on the 1995 Disney Sing-Along Songs VHS, "Colors of the Wind." It's possible this version was used due to rights with Elton John or something. It has not shown up on any albums or anywhere else. A shame really; I think this version sounds a lot better!

  • Sounds like a score from the early years of Home and Away.

  • fuck yes <3

  • I've got the sing along tape with this version on it. I wish Disney would release it on a CD, possibly a super-duper edition Lion King soundtrack.

  • This is truly beautiful and I absolutely LOVE the meaning behind it. Thank you for sharing this with everyone.

  • @jeg97256 oh, great.

  • I almost was losing my love for The Lion King, but this song prevented it:)

  • I suppose this was uploaded as a response to my beautiful PSR-340 version of this song.

  • @brermeerkat I have. Those videos are one of my guilty pleasures

  • Why is Zazu nowhere in the frame, or Scar for that matter?

  • Indeed it does... though it is a bit disappointing that the trailer edition was slightly slower yet different than that of the laserdisc edition; I always thought it was better slower for some reason.
