My sons kineseologist discoverd on our first visit that my sons dystonic movements could be controlled be putting pressure on certain parts of his jaw. We were disscussing how great it would be if we could find a mouth piece to give him constant relief. After seeing your video, I contacted my local person that is listed as carrying your applience and he told me that at 10yrs his mouth is too small for the applience??? Is this true?

These movement disorder videos are truely amazing and very moving. I am a tmj dysfunction patient of Dr Stacks so know how devastating a misaligned jaw can be

A very interesting video, I'm really glad you managed to help this lady, she must have been delighted.

How common is this condition ? I might have missed it. How many doctors know about this?
my son with dystonia sees a kinesiologist that gives him relief by working on his jaw.
I saw your video and thought that we would try the applience and went to your local doctor that carries it and was told that at 10yrs his mouth is too small?? Could this be true?

@mattsmom20 Hello mattsmom... I have sent you a personal reply also, sadly there are many practitioners who say they treat this condition who in actuality know very little about it. Catching this at such an early age can have wonderful benefits for your son in the long run. Since he is still developing they can actually help his jaw develop into the correct position... thereby eliminating many more problems down the road. I would suggest visiting ITSMN.com and see if you can find someone close

I do not have issues with the joint to which you are referring. I am however with generalized dystonia. It appears to be neurologically created- a mixed message or inappropriate message, like my dystonia is. Is that the case? I wish I could find a doctor who could care enough to find the cause of my issues, as you did to tend to her needs. Anyway, thank you for sharing this.

@bennasdwarf Thanks for your comment, but don't be so sure about the cause of your condition. In addition to having the priviledge of interacting with Dr. Stack, I have also had the great honor of documenting cases for Dr. Feld in California. Dr. Feld is a colleague of Dr. Stacks who has been using this therapy to help calm the movement issue's of patients previously diagnosed with Parkinson's. He also has had great success in eliminating many of the pains associated with Fibromyalgia.

Thanks for asking.. the cause of the symptoms is the lower jaw joint over closing.. kind of like a door in your house closing to much... if the wiring and plumbing ran through your door jam... and the door pressed on them every time you closed it...your wiring would begin to short out... in your body this causes the twicthes and pain as signals start to get crossed.. and you water flow would stop every time the door pressed on the hose... blood supply to your brain in the body...

I choose to leave your comment up because it illustrates the usual attitude of those that do not understand the extreme issue's problems with the Temnporomandibular joint can cause. This woman suffered for years in a continueing spiral of physical well being. She is now a normal functioning part of society thanks to the work and dedication of a group of professionals that obviously don't share your opinion of ailments of others. I do hope you are serious in your desire to educate yourself..
