Here is Handsome Alvin's Live acoustic cover of Saving Grace orginally by Pete Murray. Unfortunately this was recorded live at the Nudgee Beach Hotel on the 23 Aug 08 which was after the competition closed, but we decided to put this up anyway. Handsome Alvin is a Brisbane (Austalia) based acoustic duo which consists of Vince Hickey (vocals, guitar) and James Palframan (guitar, backup vocals). Hope you enjoy!!

  • You should try both playing differen stuff. 2 guys exactly playing the same chords in the same rythym can become a little messy.

just a tip, you sounded good.

  • Thanks for yur comment but I disagree, the blending of the 2 different guitars makes the song sound fuller, it only gets messy when you get out of time with each other (which does happen occasionally). We have also recorded this one as part of the Saving Grace competition with guitar and piano, check it out if you have a chance!!!

  • Loved the video, your really good too! please checkout my video`s on bogcam Youtubes first live acoustic toilet performance. and tell us what you trhink? cheers :)

  • I disagree, when you have two guitars which both sound different the blending of the 2 changes the tone not just the volume. My Maton has a very different sound than Vince's Takamine. The Takamine has a lot more in the bass whereas the Maton has more in the treble and an overall brighter sound due to the Takamine having an after market Ribbon pickup and Maton having peizo pickups.

  • no such thing as filling guitars. filling the sound with extra guitars is called making it sound louder eg being messy. sounds good tho!
