Theres nothing wrong with a $40 hopper if it works. I still use a Viewloader Eggy 2 that I bought for $20...and it works fine.

I own a mini and i have the same problem with taking my tanks of as well. It's a lot easier to take it off by turning off the eyes (hold the trigger and button) and just dry firing while unscrewing the tank.
