Well at least Maradona's Hand ball won the Final, France went to the world cup and got raped !

@TroyDouglas917 When england scored the goal that didn't cross the line, the score was 2 - 2. If it hadn't been counted the score would've remained 2 - 2 and the Germans would not have been so devestated mentally

@cradleoflinkinpark they went into penalty kicks and lost. how does that make them get raped?
-
@juve96 Agreed. They need to start implementing replays and goal line technology. Right now, diving and handballs (even though I have to say this one seemed highly reactionary in my opinion, unlike Maradona's completely intentional handball) are part of the game and, in some cases used as a damn strategy. It's a disgrace.

Richard Dunne should have hit him in the face a the end!

I think people should be taking out their frustration on Blatter and FIFA instead of Henry and France. FIFA should have replayed the game, that would have been the only right thing. You hear all this talk of fair play and the beautiful game but what is FIFA doing to ensure fair play? Football is one of the worst when it comes to officiating, players diving cheating etc and yet FIFA never steps in to try and stop this kind of behaviours or fix it.

@xterminal01 Michel Platini should be crucified! Yes!
He told the ref sympathised with the irish players said he cheated and was embarrased about it jeez leave the giza alone

@chrisclarke97 Misplaced sympathy for Henry. He had a World Cup, those he cheated out of theirs like Robbie Keane, Damien Duff will probably never have another one as they'll be too old. Henry claims he told the ref, the ref said HE DIDN'T, even if he had, it was too late and would have been an empty gesture. Karma took care of the French in South Africa and the team imploded in an embarrassing mess.

@TroyDouglas917 I have nothing against the Irish team, but they would not have fared any better than the terribly unstable French team. Karma had nothing to do with it, the team simply wasn't - and still isn't - what they were back in 2006. Ireland does not have what it takes to win a EURO 2012, not even mentioning World Cups.
All that aside, this was still clearly an offense and I'm not defending it, but Henry's shame was enough for me. All the more reason to make Blatter implement replays.

@Banned4Life The point isn't whether the Irish team is good enough to be there(nobody thought Greece would win the European Championships until they did and Spain never won anything until they won the World Cup and European Championships back to back). The point is that they're given a fair chance to qualify and they weren't here. Henry's shame? I don't see any, he went to the World Cup and played in it knowing he cheated his way there. Call it karma or poetic justice. French got it
