http://live.pirillo.com/ - A question from the chat room: is 2GB enough to run Windows Vista or should we invest in 4 GB?

Chris recommends that if you're running on a 32 bit platform to stick with 2GB of memory, but 64 bit could easily use more memory.

What do you think?

  • @INDIANAgaby No you can't. Never ever. It "see's" 4GBs, its actually only using 3GB. If you want to use 4GB, use 64 bit.

  • @fbxxxfb I only have 8 :(

  • that doesn't make sense because I had 4gb of RAM on a 32bit vista and it recognized all of it

  • @MegaTimebomb098 i fuck mah 2gb >:( because i has a 1.1GB videocard but only 2gb ram and thats fucked up :(

  • @FSXFan1090 same )_) i think me and you are blood brothers .

  • @DH1Studios 16........ i have only 2.... o_o

  • lol, I have 16GB Ram in Windows...

  • @SOF006 well im glad im using 32 bit becuase i never use all of my 3 gb and for some reason the last gigabyte is reserved for video card as a system reserve

  • 2 days before my birthday (25th May 2011)

  • My Windows 7 32bit recognize that I got 4gb installed, but it can only use 3.25gb,and of those only 2 are used by programs because 1gb is being kept for default Windows processes.

  • @taejamhaha No, that actually doesn't work. It makes the system recognise 4GBs but the system doesn't actually take advantage of it. I should know i've tried it myself.

  • @taejamhaha ok 1st of all read my comment again. 2nd of all I know why it goes above 90%, its because of daemon tools. I use it to install games, but daemon tools has some kind of a bug.
