Jason Raize was Simba in Broadway's production of The Lion King. This is a role he originated and performed for three years on Broadway from 1997 to 2000.
Sadly, Jason chose to take his own life on February 3, 2004 at the age of 28.
You are missed!
R.I.P. Jason.

  • Thank you so much for this loving tribute to Jason. I have taught and loved theatre my entire life. This spectacular muscial has so much power and grace. My deepest sympathy for your personal loss as Jason's friend. We, who love theatre, will always love Jason's contribution to his passion which is ours as well. He inspired every heart with his performances.

May his soul continue to sing.

    Blessings~

  • @CescoPisicoli Depression is a disease that is relentless if not treated. Only if he sought help.

  • i dont understand how he could kill himself, did he not realize what a genuine huge talent he was?!?! On top of that he was a stud.

  • how did you know Jason?

  • This video is so touching..

Goodness... He was so beautiful. In every way.

He will never be forgotten. <3

  • the king has passed im so sorry

  • @D1Music This is a wonderful video, brought tears to my eyes. I did not know of him when he was alive, but from what I read, the making of his pop album was put to a halt. Would you happen to know the reason for this? It just sounds so sudden, and judging from other people's comments on the songs that were released to the public, he seemed to have a pretty stable audience. I wish I knew why everything just fell apart.

  • @D1Music wow you knew jason?? what an honor..inspirational talent
