This Was Keiths Favorite Song Of Lefty Frizzels. I Can Remember The First Time I Heard Keith Whitley Sing ,I Was Astonished! This Was When I Was A Teen Ager Listening To Rock, Heavy Metal ,Blues Etc. This Guy Grabbed My Attention. My Dad Called Me In When Keith Was Singing This Song On The Grand Ol Opry One Night When I Was A Teen. He Said Boy, Come In Here And Listen To This Guy Sing! So, I Did. Since Then I'm A Devoted Keith Whitley Fan! I Have Several Cds He Made But, I Still Keep Finding Stuff I Didn't Even Know He'd Done. So, I Pay Tribute To One Of My All Time Favorite Singers Mr. Keith Whitley By Singing This Song Of His. Keith Had Several Hits Many Of Them Are Still Being Played Today Don't Close Your Eyes, It Ain't Nothing, No Stranger To The Rain Etc. Keith Died At Age 33 In May 9th Of 1989 If I'm Correct, I Will Have To Check My Cds! I Can Remember That Day Still Today My Life Stood Still. Keiths My Hero And He Was A Good Songwriter As Well.So, I Hope You'll Like My Version Of This Great Lefty Frizzell/ Keith Whitley Classic " I NEVER GO AROUND MIRRORS".

I think Lefty recorded this and Merle also recorded it once and to be on top of that group is not easy to do. You also are now on the list and I think near the top of all the covers I have heard so far. Keep playing man. I love the nylon string touch really brings this song out.
