Foot rot first appears as a white powdery-looking, foul smelling substance in hoof crevices. In advanced cases there is liquid exudate. To treat: cut out as much necrotic hoof tissue as is possible without cutting too deeply into the center of the hoof. Apply coppertox. Cover with layer of petroleum jelly. In advanced cases, give injection of LA200 (oxytetracycline) every other day, rotating injection sites.
