  • He writes big because it's a big room.

And Powerpoint is no good for learning math or anything else. Its purpose is to dumb people down so they make poor decisions, which is why salesmen like to use it. Go learn how NASA's use of Powerpoint led to the space shuttle Columbia exploding because nobody realized the pretty pictures and bullet points were spelling disaster.

  • They also do it in most high schools all around the world. It's very typical to repeat and thicken on some topics during the first year in uni... Don't assume the rest of the world is stupid. You'll be shocked when you meet them and realize how behind our great Greek minds are...

  • Is anyone else bothered by poor camera movement? It focuses on the professor while missing the board many times.

  • Newton only did one iteration.. Raphson added the idea of using x1 for a new tangent… therefore Newton-Raphson Method

  • Wow, indeed, MIT greatly offers a quality education. This is worth watching for. I am looking forward to visit this school one day. Soon!

  • I have to take a break. I got a full dose of math concepts.

  • use of so called super high tech class room with big screens is bullshit, stands no chance against the good old black boards

  • Anyone can help? I need a mathematical, not intuitive, proof... =(

  • This is great, I'm doing this and Linear algebra, and will be moving on to Multivariable Calc and differential equations. Its a privilege to be taught by one of the foremost institutions in the world. Hopefully MIT will upload their more advance maths courses in the future and share the knowledge with the world. Thank you.
