Twitter should be banned at conferences. There I said it.

You want to be part of the conversation...that's fine, but don't check your integrity, common sense and respect at the door.

And if I see heckling, insulting and disrespecting at any conference, I'll personally escort you out the room and out the conference.

  • I couldn't agree more. I just presented at a conference where everyone had their heads in their laptops and their Blackberries the entire time. It is rude, disrespectful and pointless to tweet during presentations. Pointless because, in most cases, the only people who can make sense of the tweets are people who have the full context of the presentation. So everyone's just tweeting to each other. If people would stop tweeting, they'd get more out of the presentation.

  • Exactly what you're saying is exactly why Audience was so effin' awesome. No tweeting, just paying attention.

    Well put, as usual, Joe.
