Free interpretations of artists lives and work can be very damaging. Visconti was more respectful to Mahler because he did into use the composers real name in Death in Venice. Film makers should be allowed to suggest not to represent real peoples lives, unless they are fully acquainted, which is not the case in FUR. It indulges with sex more than photography. Great films is not about great actors, is about great directors like Visconti, Fellini, Bergman, Kurosawa, Dreyer, Bresson, etc.
Loved this movie! So much underneath the skin... Great actors, great photography...amazing!
