This is taken on my 1981 Bertram 28 over 100 miles offshore while tuna fishing. As you can see this boat can hang. Waves that day were 10-12 foot. No problem for the "Ready to Assemble"

  • Well, a 46 handled by an average skipper is more dangerous than a 28 handled by a good skipper. Size only counts at they yacht club. Sure, the ride will be rough, but nothing inherently dangerous. I take a 17' montauk out on the back side of Santa Cruz and have to cross the SB channel to get home to Oxnard in 5-8 at 8 seconds. It is hairy, but not dangerous.

  • A 28 foot Boat of any type is asking for trouble @ C B. Conditions can get real ugly in a short order there. I have a 46' Hatteras and speak from experience.

I label the Owner / Skipper ........reckless.

  • nothing is EVER too much to handle...until it is.

  • @fuhmeregan yu just gotta love the old bertrams

ill buy one any time, just wish i had the money

  • Cool boat! Bert 28 is a sweee-EEET ride. Good swell to test that top design. BUT 8 MIN OF VID AND NOT ENOUGH FOOTAGE OF HER!!!!!!!!! :(
