I am nearing the final look of the OS, but much more work has to be done! please comment on what you think of the new GUI. do you like it? do you want to suggest another look (make sure it is not "too" CPU incentive. don't worry, I can make some things more efficient) then do so!

for those wondering why I haven't connected a keyboard yet, it's because I kind of blew up the poor thing (tip: do not confuse the + and -, even if they look very similar!). it will be implemented eventually.

for those wondering where I got the screensaver in the end (I decided to turn my camera to something INTERESTING while I made the final speech thing this time) I got it from http://www.reallyslick.com/screensavers.html . I HIGHLY recommend skyrocket, it is a beautiful and stunning fireworks screensaver. you can even launch fireworks with the keyboard!

happy commenting!

    Hey again.

    I've got a question.

Where did you buy the logic gates?

In the USA or in Europe.

It would be nice if it is in Europe.

    Greetz, rofid

  • @GamerThroughTheAges actually, this consits of no logic gates, rather 2 CPUs. I live in south afrika and although most people think we are a poor country, we have multiple stores to buy these rare devices. just look for "arduino Europe" or something (it's called an arduino, by the way) or your area and you will probably find it.

  • I'm surprised your not building the processor itself (out of basic logic chips or even single transistors i mean), seeing as you clearly have the required knowledge from your redstone computers. (Ok, so it took me a year to make mine and it only runs at around 10Hz, but It's very rewarding, you should try it!) Even so, very nice job!

  • @rapidrory I'm pretty sure I mensioned somewhere in the vid I was going to make an ALU, then CPU, and computer. the half-finished ALU was on the table.

  • Wasting Your Time

    Please Wait...

    I like trains BTW

    [llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,]

  • @MrFel99 that is indeed what is says. I was testing multiple lines (I was having problems that using enter/return makes the text appear ALL the way on the left of the screen, outside the popup) so I just wrote something random.

  • i tryed to type an error comment... then it said error try again >_<

  • I wonder how many lines of computer language code it took just to make the current version (Not saying it's bad, it's awesomeness) of the L-OS. And Plain-C? Ok

  • This.

  • medion van den Aldi !

  • A computer running on a 9 volt battery... lol

  • very very impressive. I can barely make a simple 3D animation and you have made an OS :O

  • Hey, I have been working with Arduinos lately and I need a good lcd, would you mind telling me where you got yours?

  • @laurensweyn My bad then :P Good luck!

  • I sugest adding some ports,(I think that whats its called)Its for mouses and flash drivers,Then add wifi adapters, btw, you know you have to make your own drivers for your computer?

  • i like the gui

  • It must be depressing to be such a genius.

  • where did you learn this?

  • i liked it...hope u could also make a screensaver in ur os too...then i am wishing u all success

  • @TheRedJavelin you can try follow my CPU tutorial. also flying around the redgame and looking at the signs may help. I did the same for other redstone computers, and you can learn quite a bit from them!

  • you are a genius

  • How did you do this? I mean, I've wanted to make an OS for about a year. All I've done is wrote about the programs I want in it. You've got a working freaking OS, from the Redgame to L-OS. Amazing. (And how expensive are all the chips and boards?) I'm just speechless.
