The Ash Grove - Welsh Tune, from "Folksong Arrangements: Volume 1 - British Isles for high voice and piano, by Benjamin Britten, Boosey & Hawkes, is sung here by Rosa Wol, soprano, piano accomp. by Sonja Mazar. Final recital-exam at The Academy of Music in Jerusalem, 9/12/2008
Please notice the special arrangement Britten gave to this song, in the piano part: it seems as if the piano-part has life of its own, without connection to the original folksong. The disconnection grows stronger and stronger each stanza, until the piano and the voice clash harmonicaly between themselves
