Here's my original comment on the book:
This is a book review of the most inspiring book I've read in years. Greg Mortenson is just an ordinary guy, but he's become my new hero. If I can wake up some day in the distant future and look at my life and think that I've achieved even 1/10th of what he has, I'll be a very happy man.
I can't imagine anyone who wouldn't enjoy reading this book - it's full of adventure, heartwarming relationships, a rollercoaster of emotions, exciting culture, and downright goodness.

  • I liked the story, hated the writing style. Relin undoubtedly has the power to single-handedly make God cry. Greg Mortenson is totally cool though. :)

  • @bulletproofpunk It wasn't exactly riveting, but the story made up for it!

And yeah - that's my old bass...got it for free from a gay friend. :P

I was just considering buying Stones into Schools (the sequel) today. Decided to get a book on Indonesia instead though 'cause I'm traveling here now.

  • hey, great review... the only think i would like to point out is that Greg Mortensen mentioned he wanted to teach girls because thats another way of fighting terrorism. Supposedly when a terrorist wants to bomb a place, he has to first ask permission from his mother..

maybe im wrong, maybe im right..

    thanks

  • I think I vaguely remember him mentioning something along those lines. Seems kinda wild that a pack of forceful, angry mothers might be able to stop something the whole US army can't seem to quench.

  • Hey man great vid. This really helped me review for my class. Thanks for that.

  • Another awesome teacher sharing this book with their students? Sweetness!

    Glad I could help~

  • @NotAtAllXD yeah, Greg Mortenson isn't cool anymore, and I still dislike his book.

  • @bulletproofpunk Especially since he's a liar!

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G review buddy! I`m still reading the book and I`m completely overwhelmed. Without a doubt this is the bestest book I`ve ever read in my life. His story is so much inspiring. Every one in the world would read this book, from the great leaders to the ordinary people...

He became my HERO as well...He alone accomplished so much for those forgotten ppl from that so remote areas from Pakistan n Afheganistan n always keeping the due respect for their traditions n beliefs.

  • Hmm... I feel like I've heard about this book before. I just might have to check it out!

  • I don't think their are plam trees near K2 lol

  • You have a pink bass guitar behind your drawer. Did you know that?
