@leroyprc Oh, so you're insulting me for nothing...? I was just saying that he is a retard for wanting to sue gorillaz for only three notes. I never said I was a music lover, and I don't care how famous he was if I never heard of him (with reason, since I'm from BRAZIL). I just hate when people like you and him starts a fuss for NOTHING.

its legal as long as they copied under 7 bars of the music i believe, but id still say enough of it is different that its not downright plagarism.

@713ZombieGhoul317 Not to mention that in the Gorrilaz version, every other time the riff is vamped, the 3rd beat is a different note. Also, not to mention that even with that similar riff in front, the backing in the Gorillaz version is complex. Also, not to mention, Stylo is a lot better.

@cavesystem I love how u couldnt answer my first question, instead u just insult me like any uneducated /musically-bias person would do. I'm not here to insult Eddy Grant. From the sounds of this song of his I may possibly like him. But u must realize that what we can do with music is limited...atleast in terms of theroy. A few months ago i wrote a song by following what i knew based on music theroy. When i showed it to my friend he accused me of ripping of a beatles song i never even heard.

It doesn't seem to me that its a matter of which is better, that is objective opinion, however the similarities can't be ignored...
but if Vanilla Ice got away with it with Queen's "Under Pressure" than I don't see this getting anywhere. At least don't go the same route as Vanilla Ice and blatantly deny it, give a nod to Eddy if nothing else.
