Staff Sgt. Bryan A. Burgess, 29, of Cleburne, Texas. Died March 29 at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire in Konar province. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
I just found out last night about this, and I am so sorry for the loss in your family. Our military are definitions of what TRUE hero's are. I am thankful everyday for our men and women in uniform. Thank you Bryan for your service and sacrifice. And Tiffany, Thank you for your's. I love you girl and my heart mourns for you and your families loss. May god allow him to be with you all in your time of grief. God bless you all!

Ssgt. Bryan Burgess served under me in the Texas State Guard. He was a fine soldier and a good friend. I WILL NOT FORGET.
