First transmitted in 1989, this is the first part of a programme that follows the progress of 29 men who want to be Royal Marine Officers. After arriving at Commando Training Centre, Devon, they find that their fortitude is tested to the very limits as they undertake the All Arms Commando Course to earn their green berets.

  • @babscabs1987 What a stupid thing to say.

  • @USMarineRifleman0311 you make good points about history and tactics but honestly why do you waste you time trolin on youtube. Who cares who is better? besides there is no realistic way in the modern world you could compare them. you cannot "prove" that one is better they are too different like you said. I find it hard to believe that you are in the usmc as you show little respect for your allies.

  • Jackman: major player!

  • @babscabs1987 Correct.

  • jackman showed good spirit though. it's a shame

  • i would be more scared of a royal marine charging me down with a bayonet than a US marine.

  • @USMarineRifleman0311 "Hence why the USMC was sent into Fallujah, Sangin, Musa Qala, Garmsir....and countless other places since 1918. "

Wow you want a fucking biscuit? The Royal Marines have been kicking Johnny Foreigner's arse since 1664.

  • @USMarineRifleman0311 Very light in formation? What does that even mean? I have friends in the Royal Marines and I was in training for the Army Infantry, you are American. I will tell you now, Infantry Sections in the British Army and Royal Marines are 8 man formations with 3 of them to a Platoon. Furthermore we don't have squads here, our smallest formation is Fire Team (half a Section). Like I said before we have 2 LMGs (M249 to you) and 1 GPMG (again to you, the M240).

  • @Hampshirelad91

Rm squads are 9 man and very light in formation. There is only 1 GPMG team per section (2 squads)

The USMC squad has 4 LMGs per squad. Squad on squad, the RMs would be annihilated.

Hence why the USMC was sent into Fallujah, Sangin, Musa Qala, Garmsir....and countless other places since 1918.

  • @USMarineRifleman0311 What are you talking about? A RM rifle section is equipped identically to A British Army Rifle Section. 2 Rifles (Section Commander and Vallon man (who may also carry the Combat Shotgun), 2 UGL Rifles, 2 LMGs, 1 Sharpshooter Rifle, 1 GPMG. You might also have various blokes carrying a '66. I'm not sure but I think the RM still use the LSW as well, wheras the Army have dumped it more or less completely.
