@Mrvegasmax777 Ok, you have NO idea what you are talking about. The postal service does not get money from funds or support or taxes. It is a self propelled/ contained unit, stuck with a Board of Governors hired by Bush Jr and screwed with old bullshit rules by Congress that keep it broke by paying out billions of prefunded retiree money. Making it a private company will rip the delivery industry in our country, kill jobs for millions of Americans and all but end paper based advertising.

@al5mnd9trnksdr745bi Ok, the union postal worker, lets say mail carriers, make about 50k - 60k a year, working six days a week, ten hours worth a work a day, but only get paid for nine hours, sometimes with no lunch, in all kind of weather and areas. Their bosses make 70k to 110k a year (plus 5 to 10k in bonuses), sits at a desk, answers the phone, imputs data in the computer and times/ watches the carriers work for special assignments. If there are atleast 2 bosses for every five workers...

Ending SATURDAY delivery will be a major INCONVENIENCE to the general public. Most residents are home on this day to sign for mail and receive packages but INSTEAD they would receive a notice while they are work on Monday to DRIVE TO THE PO and pick up their mail during the week before closing time which means they may have to leave work early (and if they're hourly, they would be losing money to do this, D U H !) Change it to Wednesday if you have to select one day!

I would rather have the mailman deliver junk mail to me than to receive an email,,,, please help me on this type of reasoning
Fed Ex & UPS will never deliver that mail for $.44. Anywhere in America - door to door. That is value!
Without the PO to keep them somewhat in check, their rates would go even higher.

In 2006 congress mandated the postal service to PRE-FUND 75 years' worth of future retiree health benefits within the following 10 years! USPS has paid them $5.5 BILLION dollars per year which accounts for 100 percent of the $20 BILLION in losses over the past four years! It also accounts for 100 percent of the rise i the Postal Service's debt in recent years. News stations are not reporting the story of course!
