  • will any metal detector work underwater or is it only a certain kind?

  • @mitch4942 Hey Mitch...They make special underwater metal detectors that can be used both in water and on land. But the most common detectors are only for land. If you get them wet, they quit working. Thanks for checking out my videos!

  • A pretty good tool for swishing away sand and dirt underwater is a ping-pong paddle with a hole drilled through the handle and a lanyard to put around your wrist. Moves a lot of sand effortlessly. I'd recommend not pushing your mask up on your forehead. In scuba training they teach you to pull it down under your chin. I had one up on my forehead once in the surf and lost it to a wave. Never found it. A good habit now avoids an accidental loss later.

  • That's a good idea about the paddle. I'll give it a try. I had the same training with the mask, but where I hunt if it falls off I can just reach down and pick it up. I know it's a bad habit, but it's worth the risk not having it tugging and scratching my throat all of the time. There's not much I hate worse! And yeah, I've lost a few things in the surf as well...

  • cool video man!!!! i would rather be here in the states detecting than anywhere else in the world...i was watching the movie "God's and Generals" the other night and there was a part where the north was crossing a river into a southern town and they were crossing across on a potoon bridge, the lead was flying...i was thinking to myself " man, if sombody knew where that place was because there is bullets laying everywhere at the bottom of that river...keep up the good work..bobby in tennessee

  • That's the kind of place we all like to look for. Good luck to you in the field as well!

  • You digg a lot of those bullet... Do you know the weight of all that lead (Pb) you have found so far ??? I bet it's a few hudred pounds. hahaha!! great vid man !

  • Cool. Is that Union or Confederate duct tape? Or was it manufactured by the South but predominately used by the North? Underwater hunting looks so cool to me. Keep it up.

  • that looks like kellys ford

  • I agree with you for calm water hunting about the mask, but irratating or not, I'd still pull the mask down if surf hunting. As for the paddle, try it. It will float right above your hand out of the way when not being used. I like to use a gentle side to side movement to move sand and dirt out of the way, so you can see your target when it appears. Try mostly a pivoting of your wrist back and forth more than an arm movement. Works like magic. Happy hunting, and many wonderful finds.

  • Im Going To Start Soon Digging For Some Civil War Bullets And stuff! :P

  • Way to go man, I like your video, don't get to see much underwater stuff. I still get excited over digging bullets myself !
