vintage synth demo by RetroSound

Roland Jupiter-4 pt.2
4-Voice Analog Synthesizer from the year 1978.

The JP-4 sound is very warm and organic. The 4 VCO`s are always a bit out of tune but this is the typical JP-4 sound. Not compared to the bigger JP-6 or JP-8. For me the best sounded Jupiter.

the demo shows some sound settings and the arpeggiator
FX: Lexicon MPX for delay and reverb

thx a lot for your comment

    like your vids too!

  • If I was given the choice of any 4-voice analog synth ever made, this would be it for me. And as always, you never fail to hold my interest in synths until the videos end. Keep up the marvelous work.

  • What happened to Roland? they used to make some of the best sounding gear on the planet. Now everything they make is just a plastic toy in comparison. Come on roland put some effort into your products and start releasing some cool sounding analogue gear again please.

  • I had one,

  • WOW!! That Machine is a Beast!!!

  • I found one at a recycling station for $10. It was rusty and full of leaves and dead bugs. I got it half working by replacing a couple of ICs that produced smoke the first time I turned it on, but something in the board that reads the keyboard was screwed beyond my limited skills to fix, it would play notes by itself and randomly portamento the pitch in huge atonal leaps, everything sounded like Satan playing Lucky Man. LOL. In the end I gave it away for parts to someone who needed the sliders.

  • @devmiles VST people would be scared of it for the fact it doesn't have MIDI, lol. Of course you can always add a MIDI interface to it, but that would be absolutely boring!

Oh yeah, analog is great. It reaches all sorts of frequencies that digital can't get to, due to the fact analog follows principles of infinity.

  • ******

  • The sexiest looking synth ever (in my opinion) And the sounds! Oh, their fatter and warmer than half the McDonald's burger fat poured onto the surface of the sun! Amazing video mate! One day...I will gain the synth into my collection...One day :)

  • Marko, you have to get a Jupiter 8!
