@missrocknrockstaaa It cooled Red bean paste or Azuki bean paste.You can check it on Wikipedia. Well...Because this is sweet, I do not like it so much.

Thank you for posting! I am very much into Japanese culture and cooking in general and to peak in on it like this is wonderful... I do not understand a single word unfortunately... yet, but I am glad that the kids are included to keep the tradition going... however that machine... how recent have they been out and used in Japan?

@Jerrid3 Thank you for the comment. I think that this machine which makes mochi is not using almost all homes any longer.....
