if yor still using the same 2wire modem "i am using the exact model right now" then you can download a program called TCP-Z and patch your ports and allow all the partial data flow to open up for full speeds

Line capcity is probably high so a soon as u use ur intermet it drops out. Like bumper to bumper traffic just goes so slow eventually it stops.
