Just do like the old school Kyokushin fighters and go punch and kick the shit out of a bare tree.

Well ,Mate thanks for your not so Intelligent answer, having trained in martial arts for 42 years with some of the most prominent people out there I have picked up a few things, see how easy it is to respond to crap talking douche bags over the internet.Happy hand breaking Idiot.

@zombiekicker that's right, they just help to make sure you don't make an absolute fool of yourself by breaking your under-developed hands if you punch someone. Can get pretty embarrassing
-
@zombiekicker no but they do make your nuckles harder

@zombiekicker CHEESY ENTER THE DRAGON QUOTE

Haha! The flick of your hand at 4:03 was so quickly that it startled me. :D
-
@zombiekicker - true, but the makiwara is not intended to help you fight better outside of conditioning you to be able to hit harder, with better technique, and for longer. It is not intended to replace sparring/Kumite.

@zombiekicker A good old Sifu Lee quote from Enter the Dragon. Everybody knows that. However, I'm wondering if you use your skull or your father's skull to practice your strikes on. Or do you beat up every poor beggar on the street just to test your skills. When you do a power punch at a real enemy but then miss and smash your bare knuckles full force into a brick or steel wall then perhaps you'll understand the importance of this exercise.

@zombiekicker nope but it does hurt if you do it wrong. you should go try it, and if you do it and it doesn't hurt...hit harder.
Mate, you want flexibility, not all that movement that you show. The angle is all wrong, the timber configuration is wrong, the height is wrong, and no offense you have never used a makiwara before.

@watz7316 Mate, i wanted something to toughen up my striking points, this does that. Everything on it does exactly what i want, plus i have been using a makiwara for many years, and no offense you have never used a makiwara before. See how easy it is to talk crap over the internet. thanks for watching.

Hey nice vid, thanks. But I have one question, how do you attach the rope where it wont come undone or slide down the wood ? Do you just tie it or what ? Thanks.

@frost2021 Yeah i just looped it under some strands and pulled it tight. it has stayed good for over a year now. make one and try it out.

You did not explain the most important thing which is - how to get it to stand solidly and stay up. What it's attached to and how it is attached!

@Koryuhoka With this makiwara i just have it placed into a whole in the ground and it says up very well. it also gives a little so if you hit to hard it has some give.
