Jimmy Eat World - Hear You Me (cover)

This is a cover we learned earlier this week. I've always loved Jimmy Eat World and after recently hearing this song in the movie The Butterfly Effect, Grace and I decided it was time to learn it. We stayed pretty true to the original version of the song.

You may notice that there's no Corben and a new wall behind me in this video. Corben is absolutely still a part of Two Capitals. The reason I put this video up on this channel instead of my personal channel is because there's a wider audience here. Holler if ya'll want to see more of Grace in future videos.

Since the last video we uploaded, I've moved into a different house. We transferred all the recording gear, but haven't set it all back up yet. The room isn't carpeted yet and the walls are bare, so it's not really optimal recording conditions yet. We just used the mic on the camera to pick up the sound instead of mic'ing or plugging everything in. The hissing in the background is less noticeable as the song goes on. After listening back to a couple of our practice takes, I found that the guitar was super loud (even though I was finessing the strings) and our voices were super quiet in the mix. So, I had to sing pretty loud for the vocals to be heard, that's why they sound a bit forced.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the song.

@latingirl2190 I'm so glad you like it. Yeah, we tried to stay very very close to the original on this one. Sometimes we like to add some of our flair, but this song is perfect the way Jimmy did it originally.
