This is the advanced FWE valveless pulsejet engine. This video goes over everything from leak testing to how to start and run the engine.

I also have these engines available for sale on my website and ebay.

  • Have you thought about thermal coating the outside of the combustion chamber?

  • Coating the outside with an insulator would just cause the inside to melt. You would need to coat the inside to prevent the heat from being absorbed in the first place.

  • Is this thing producing any meaningful thrust?

  • A little over 2 lbs of thrust, which might not sound like much but would be about like a 1 hp piston engine with a prop when pushing a plane.

  • Mine has the fuel burning in the end of the exhaust pipe. any ideas?

  • @jeanlucncoelho with a grill starter i think those work even better

  • Output thrust pressure (lbs)?

  • And how can i start the engine without a magneto?

  • How do i fix leaks?

  • weld some cooling ribs on the front and put it on an RC plane :D

  • hey you guys are really great. your the only ones who post a video on how to start a Chinese engine. i just made one like this and am in the process of mounting it on a bike. do you think 3- 1 lb propane tanks would power it for a minute or so?

  • 'Like the down the tube shot at 4:14. It's worth a thousand words.

  • what city/state or city/country is this in? looks really nice outside

  • @jclauterback lol, yea. i made one pocket sized... then got pulled over with it hanging from my rear view mirror... that was interesting

  • hey wats the nozzel like for the gas intake? wats the orifice size? and how far is it down the intake barrell? plz reply

  • LOL dude^^

  • How do you form the cone on the engine?

  • What makes it an FWE

  • lol it looks like a steampunk bong

  • Propane is flammable, not explosive. There is no difference between putting a flame at the tip of the injector, or having the injector sticking into a glowing hot engine with fire being shot out of the intake at 600 mph.

The spark plug is simply another way to start the engine, and is the easiest way to start liquid fuel. It only provides ignition at the start, after the engine is running there is no need for a spark.

  • no, its just for safety. propane is explosive, so putting a lighter up to the nozzle may be dangerous. i personally dont need one
