hello You can BATHE your turtle with a mild soap detergant and scrub his shell with a soft sponge.. then rinse him (I also wash my snakes in the same manor) bad smell is a sign of infection they should not stink my 3 toed LALA loves to climb in turtle POOP and yes he does get stinky.. he loves it!! think it is a way to keep predators away

@arwhentruelove I wouldn't let them bathe in it, what if the turtles decides to take a drink? I prefer just using a big toothbrush and scrub their shell and legs.

How big do they grow to?
DoodlingCupcakes 1 year ago
@DoodlingCupcakes about 4-6 inches from the front of the shell to the rear end.
Right this year, Vega is about 3.5 inches =) and is now living outside in a enclosed habitat with his big sis Viva (whom is actually smaller).

do box turtles smell please reply cause i used to have a tortoise but it smelled really bad so my mom made me return it but i really want a box turtle i like love turtles sooo much so ya just please tell me

@sligadoo I'm not sure exactly how to answer you... Yea, all animals smell, we as humans smell if not kept-up. If you keep them outside they hardly smell at all, but inside the smell of waste and fouled-water will build up if left unattended. You shouldn't smell much as long as you spot-clean the substrate and change water regularly.
go to my web site turtletown.giblar dot-com and I have some instructions (under caresheet) how to maintain indoor turtles (hatchling hotel) -Outdoor is a dif story
