  • Hi Rodridm,

Thank you for your question. This instrument was hollowed out by termites in north east Arnhem Land. The termites burrow in to the ground and eat up the inside of a eucalyptus tree from the roots. Frank Thill spent time learning from the great yidaki master Djalu Gurruwiwi and made this one. Members of Djalu's family then painted this didgeridoo with their clan designs.

We don't actually make any instruments ourselves we merely sell the highest quality instruments available.

  • Do the professionally made man hollowed eucalyptus didges sound different from the native made termite hollowed didges? I want to know the difference between man hollowed and termite hollowed.
