This is hilarious! Its so ridiculous its funny

It is literal to a non-literal interpretation of the lyrics. Not very literal if you ask me. There's no video in the movie, just a couple of video cameras, no song, but a radio player and the song isn't about that kind of heartbreak. Plus, the mood of the song and the video don't match, nor does the action sync well with the lyrics.
And I didn't like it.

It IS literal... to what THE SONG says. Not the video.

@sherbetsaucers no one quite cares about the dictionary version, so stop being a self righteous douche. people who search for literal videos want to see what videos that are the meme, not the technical dictionary definition. we don't come to youtube and search literal video for an english lesson, nor do we come to have pricks such as yourself preach to us. this...wasn't all that clever. no offense intended to the creator, but i didn't quite find any humor in it. take on me? it was hilarious.

Literal videos, as far as the memes go, are narrations of the music videos, not videos taken from the lyrics themselves. As far as the lyrics go, this is just a clever video, not a meme one. I was also disappointed that it wasn't meme related.

How literal do you idiots want? The video chopped up the radio in the bathtub! Cannot get more literal than that! That is talent exploded. Beside being the very first, and there is only one, video on MTV, the premise is literally, practically, and historically true. You liberal arts people just crack me up with your foolish ideals.

@sherbetsaucers - Yeah, right. But this still is not a literal version in the sense people are used to look for (at least here on youtube). When they google for a literal version of this video (like I just did), this is not what they are expecting - even with all your explanation above making perfect sense.
Look up for Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" literal version and you'll see for yourself what I'm talking about. Epic!
OK, everyone saying this isn't a literal video. Firstly, go and buy a dictionary. Or google the word. There you go... Still not convinced? The Take on Me vid, the first 'literal' video, was posted after this one. This isn't trying to be part of the same meme, it pre-dates it. Now stop being wrong!
