I have a Roy Rogers hat, it's a a silver 5X fur felt and has the silver hat band backed by black felt. The hat band Roy often wore was gold backed by felt. For the last few years of Roy and Dale's life I visited every May for a couple of weeks. I came to know the family quite well and yes, Roy was exactly as he seemed. Dale had an aura about her and she was always a very attractive woman even in her late 80s. Once Roy counted the 7 sleeve buttons on my western blouse and pointed out he had 9!

@jcherry50 I really enjoyed watching this! My husband used to block his hats when I met him, and he dearly loved Roy. He passed away a few years ago, but watching this was like having him here for a little bit.

Thank you so much for this video. Roy was and always will be my favorite cowboy. As a child my Mom got me the whole Roy Rogers outfit which I wore for a long time till it was worn out:)

I'd put this film earlier than '90, early 80's maybe

What a great video. Always loved Roy growing up. I have been wanting to start hat making so have been gathering supplies and starting small. This video is great as it doesn't seem so intimidating.
Thanks again for sharing.

that voice!!!!! unmistakable, Roy Rogers, Mr. White Hat. And now we know how his hats were so distinguished. I"m been a hat designer for the last 30 odd years, and the old ways are the ones I learned. Having made hats on the road, with nary a block in sight, and towels as the props, I totally understand his methodology here. His "telescoping" is individual, and totally unique in it's double channel. With the slope, and the curl, it's a Roy Rogers hat! And now all of us get to practice!

I absolutely LOVED the show. I was born in 1952 and the show was on Saturday mornings. Learned his heritage has Choctaw....I have Tuscorora. I LOVED reading that his shows never demeaned our Native Americans. You are truly blessed!
Just plain awesome. Thanks for this...
