well, if the fact that so many have been 'fluffed' with bullshit for so long, & eaten it up like lobster for so many years bothers you when it is presented as the absurdity that it is...then maybe more people in this country should stop believing that 'christmas' has ANYTHING to do with 'christ' & 'goodwill' & in asinine things like an invisible, mythillogcal, mass murdering dictator in the sky.

You seem to be missing the entire purpose of what I wrote. You only see it for selfish reasons and therefore only see the strides our race has made but fail to see the downfall that our society has done. Seriously, all the 7 deadly sins are participated in everyday and honored for it. We haven't earned the right to be greedy, you can never earn anything to gain pride. It's called selfless acts of kindness that no one ever does, not even on Xmas.

If you really wany to make a difference then grab some guns, invade their government, and kill their leader so you can force our way of life upon them. You can either force them to change the way they live and shit all over their culture and way of life, or help them continue living the way they are. Either way they're suffering. I sure as hell don't see Africa or Iraq being generally better ever since we started helping them these two different ways.

We've developed societies that for the most part are far more efficient, and then people who are "less fortunate" see it with green eyes and wish for nothing more than to destroy what we've created for ourselves simply because they've crippled themselves. No one is better than anyone else. Yeah, it would really suck if I was a person born in a country where my parents would most likely be dead by the time I'm 12, forcing me to raise my three younger siblings by myself.
