Around 1980, the cast of Guiding Light created this spoof of the show. Using current storylines and characters, they crafted these random scenes. Some are funnier than others, but it is neat to see some of the great characters back in the day.

This clip has the following scenes:

1. Commercial spoof (featuring Ross Marler in his only appearance)

2. Sara McIntyre, Bert Bauer, and Justin Marler

3. Bert Bauer, Justin Marler, Greg Fairbanks, and (I think) Elizabeth Marler

  • Elizabeth was married to Allen and he adopted Phillip to pass the boy off as their own child. She (Lezlie Dalton) was gorgeous. In the mid 80s I got to appear with her on The Joe Franklin Show, LOL! She was just beautiful and I was smitten.

  • Ross is sitting next to his future wife! Ah, the wonders of SORAS.

  • Classic! This could never happen again. So glad the studio let Marsha Clark and the cast of GL do this. We all have our memories of Guiding Light and now we have funny ones like Guiding Plight.

  • Charita Bauer was to GL what Kay Chancellor is to Y&R and Nancy Hughes is to ATWT.

  • I can't stop laughing at the fact that Justin Marler came out of surgery smoking a cigarette and carrying a bottle of beer!

And the flashback to the evening in Scranton: "Oh, great! I've never seen it!" Oh, this is priceless!

  • Hearing voiceovers and seeing flashbacks! Marsha Clark, please give us more! Funny! LOL!

  • Actually Holly has been referred to a few times since. But the last time she was seen was at Ross Marler's death and funeral, quickie weird Wesnesday episode in April 2006. I only know that because that episode is on youtube, I do believe.

  • Oh ok I used to watch GL a lot but then stopped watching in 2003 she was still on at the time.

  • That's what you get for having an "audio thought process"! Great soap opera diagnosis. LOL!

  • Yes, that was Elizabeth Marler.
